Day Fifty Two...

I've just finished packing all my clothes whist my dearest if having dinner with her friends. I didn't want to go the meal, but as soon as they're done I'll be racing into town to meet them.

We plan on leaving early tomorrow morning, but there's a few staying over tonight, so I imagine there will be a few hangovers to contend with. Of course, I'll be as fresh as a daisy.

I've been asked to do a couple of extra nights the week after I'm back from holiday. This is a pain in the ass, as I thought I was finished with all that. However, it's a few extra quid in the bank I suppose.

Hi Guinea.

You're just off on holiday as I come back from my 3 weeks in Canada. Hope you have a good time and good weather. I picked an excellent time to be away from South Yorkshire as have missed all the flooding and related inconveniences. Work at the Council would have been a nightmare too!

50lbs plus!! That's a great total. Don't let the worry about keeping the weight off deflect you though. I too have tried to find accurate stats for the keeping weight off thing but without sucess. Anecdotally though, I do know people who have managed it. I think the Maintenance thing is the key; keeping going to class to get weighed (maybe not every week) even after you're at goal. Those people seem to be the most sucessful at staying slim. Think it must be about accountability to someone or something that helps in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Also new more active activities, sea kayaking etc must help.

By the by, I was really keen to sea kayaking while in Canada but my husband can't swim and wasn't keen and, although I would have done it without him, we had so many activities we wanted to do that something had to give and it made sense for that to be the one. I haven't given up on the idea though and hopefully D will learn to swim one day. It's really limiting. Also, the weather was a bit cool to really fancy doing it when we were in the relevant place.

The other thing I laughed at while catchin gup on your blog was the spring cleaning. I think there's something about being a few weeks into LL that makes you want to celar out. I started clearing and chucking out like a mad thing. Must be a side effect of the diet - a good one too.

Hope you lost the cold and that your work shifts have regularised when you get back.

Hi Guinea

Just popped in to catch up. Your weight loss is FANTASTIC!

I hope you have a lovely break - even if it involves some DIY!.

Read your comments about weight loss continuing; the magazine tends to use models who have maintained for at least 12 months or longer. The LighterLife website also updates its success stories regularly (again, long-term maintainers of lower weight).

Have you checked out minis? It's a great forum and in need of some male perspective!

Take care and enjoy.
